Born Michael Shepherd Harper, 31st of may 1943, In Barrow In Furness, Lancashire, To Parents Winifred Harper and Shep Harper. Along with his brothers and sister, Veronica, Raymond and George .

Mick Harper Entered and won the Elvis of the midlands competition at the age of 17 

which paved the way for his long career in the music industry.
